You can make it work if you have a dremel tool and small hand file. - ProMag EAA MKA 1923 12ga 10 Round Shotgun Magazine

Mike's Review of ProMag EAA MKA 1923 12ga 10 Round Shotgun Magazine
Hello Friends,
I just received this new Pro Mag 10 round magazine model MKA 02, I was very excited to open the package. I right away plugged it into my MKA 1923 12 gauge shotgun and it would not clip/lock into place it just fell right back out. Say what?? I tried again thinking I was doing something wrong, was getting very frustrated to say the least. After fighting with it for awhile I read the reviews on this item a little closer this time. I didn't pay too much attention to them prior to my purchase because it is advertised to fit in the MKA 1923. In the reviews one guy said he was able to make his work by using a Dremel tool, but he didn't say exactly how he did it. I searched all over the Internet looking for any help I could find on how one can modify this to fit the MKA 1923, not luck after spending hours looking. Frustrated I gave up and just decided to send it back for credit back on this item. I then looked all over the Internet for something else that might work better in place of this magazine. The only thing I found was the stock 5-round magazine you can get for this gun, and the price is just as much as this 10 round Pro Mag model MKA 02. I was pretty much stuck, no other good options out there that I could find. So I decided to try this modification on my own, after spending about an hour or so I was able to make it work perfectly in my MKA 1923 shotgun. There is a lever in the magazine chamber that is spring loaded, you press it to release the magazine from the gun. That lever clips onto the protruding metal piece on the mag to hold it in place and lock it. Here is how I did it, take a very close look at your stock 5-round clip and compare this Pro Mag side by side with it. Notice the protruding metal where it locks in place when installed in the gun. The Pro Mag does not insert far enough into the magazine chamber to allow the lever to lock onto that protruding metal bump. You need to shave off about 1/16 to 1/8" off the Pro Mag MKA 02 so it will go far enough up in the chamber so with lever will lock it. I filed down the metal off the entire front section of the mag (the section above the protruding dimple used to lock it) and also the very top edges back farther. Your goal is to take enough off so the height is the same as the 5-round mag. This will be a "trial and error" file then check to see if it will lock, be patient you will eventually get enough filed off so it locks. Once you do take another look and compare with the 5-round mag, the protruding dimple should be about the same distance now (looking directly at the front of both mags) from the top front edge of each magazine to the dimpled metal section (use to lock it). I hope this is clear enough to help anyone that is thinking about making this purchase, it will work if you are willing to work with it some. One important final note, once you take a file to it you are committed and will not be able to send it back. Good luck all, hope this helps you!! Remember a Dremel tool will save you much time and effort when doing this.
