Most Helpful Positive Review You can make it work if you have a Dremel tool and small hand file.
Hello Friends, I just received this new Pro Mag 10 round magazine model MKA 02, I was very excited to open the package. I right away plugged it into my MKA 1923 12 gauge shotgun and it would not clip/lock into place it just fell right back out. Say what?? I tried again thinking I was doing somet...

Most Helpful Negative Review necessity is the mother of invention.
I got 2 of these magazines and found they didn't fit. instead of sending them back and getting a refund, I used a dremel tool and made the necessary adjustments/modifications to make them work in my 1923. I'll do it again. It WOULD be nice to see these magazines fit from the factory.

Worth it if you have a dremel

by MechaDeathWhale, Verified Owner from NM, United States Written on August 19, 2020
This is my second attempt with these magazines. I bought two of them last year and ended up returning them because neither would lock in. I figured that Promag would’ve fixed the problem by now, so I ordered two more. Nope. These ones weren’t locking in either, and I’m not a fan of the 5 round magazine that came with the MKA 1923, so I decided to risk it and try to get these 10 rounders to work. I did exactly what another reviewer said and trimmed down the front of the magazine just above the catch and now they both work perfectly (and they look badass). They have a nice positive click and they drop freely when released. These should’ve been fixed by Promag a long time ago, but it was easy enough to fix it myself, so I can honestly say that it was worth it. If you have a dremel and a spare 20 minutes, you can have a few of these mags working flawlessly in no time. Your shotgun will thank you.
Pros:
  • Sturdy
  • Looks cool
  • Higher capacity
Cons:
  • Needs tweaking

Does not fit EAA mka 1923

by MC, from AZ, United States Written on July 4, 2020
Magazine seems like it's of good quality and built well but it simply does not fit my mka 1923. I read online that it didn't and thought I would be able to modify it but I think it's impossible. It goes into the magazine well so deep the detent is a half an inch away from the magazine catch. It does not leave enough room for the magazine catch to set completely
Pros:
  • Built well
Cons:
  • doesn't fit

MKA 1923 disappointed review.

by Tony, from FL, United States Written on June 10, 2020
Mag doesn't fit at all, what a major let down. I read other reviews about this item that said the same thing, but I decided to try it anyway. It is sitting in the same box it came in. I have not even sent it back, don't even feel like the hassle right now.

Do not stay locked it. Will need to adjust the tang that locks in the clip. I should not have to do this myself. This should have been caught before sending to the customer..both of the ones I was sent have this issue.

MKA 1923 magazine

by Bob, from AR, United States Written on April 12, 2020
Ordered two ten round magazines for the MKA 1923 12 gauge shotgun. Neither of the mags would fully engage. The mag release
would not catch. Returned and got a full refund from optics planet.
I measured the mag catch on the original mag and the promag. The catch on the promag is lower in relation to the top lip of the mag.
About ,030 inches. Could have fixed it but considering how much they cost, decided to return.
Pros:
  • none as they are not usable.
Cons:
  • Not usable

Tweeking needed.

by Staley, from MO, United States Written on December 15, 2019
I bought these at a good price. I needed to use my Dremel cutting wheel to modify the magazine catch nub(?) slightly. Painted the modified area and it’s good to go. The magazine works fine now. I am very happy with the results.

Requires modification

by Joseph, from NM, United States Written on July 23, 2019
These magazines don't fit the 1923. ProMag just re-packaged the 1919 magazines and stuck a new label on them. Don't waste your time and money with these like I did. Luckily Optics Planet has great customer service and refunded my money. I honestly wonder if the people at ProMag even tried using one of these with a 1923 before they shipped them out.
