JizzyJay's Review of ProMag Mossberg International 702 Plinkster Tactical Folding Stock

It's one of the best, cause it's one of the only ones easily available.
First impressions were smelly, comes in that God forsaken packaging that everyone hates, the plastic kind but once you get it out of that the thing reeks of languished warehouse air and a very strong smell of new car tires.
The picatiny rails are a bit of a joke, the style points are nice but functionally they are next to useless for mounting a light, though the Crimson Trace rifle lights pair well with it since their pressure pads use velcro and a thick stick pad. The length of pull is long, like really long. I can hold my rifle out in front of me pistol style and just about lean my forehead in and put it on the recoil pad. Maybe I'm just short, but this length of pull feels like it would make an M16A2 blush. The folding part of the stock locks very tightly to the little nub on the side and is very nice and solid as pretty much the whole product is. I wouldn't hesitate to hold it by the stock and play a few innings then maybe cut a tree down with it. The dip in the stock also lines the up with the iron sights of my Rossi perfectly. The grip feels fine, and the handguard section feels nice with a good triangle taper to the barrel. I will admit though, it's a chunky guy in the weight department, and adding an optic and light puts a massive damper on the already extremely soft shooting 22LR.

The biggest con for me and I saved this for last intentionally because it's my gripe. The sling situation is bad. Granted, you can just run it through the stock and under the picatiny at the front, or mount a picatiny to QD or however you wanna try to fix it, it all around just sucks and has frustrated me to the point of not even using a sling.
How much does a sling matter in the context of a 22 plinking rifle? It doesn't, but I'm still mad about it.

All in all, if you got long arms or are just willing to put up with it like I am the chassis is fine and definitely a decent upgrade to your $120 plinking toy.
