Ted's Review of ProMag PM277 Marlin 795/60 Tactical Folding Stock Polymer Black

It came with no guide for installation and it required I sand a little of the plastic under the trigger guard to get it to fit but it was worth it. For the sale price I paid I'm glad I took the chance, its folds up nicely and the pistol grip is decent. I had to buy a replacement DIP aluminum trigger guard because the brittle plastic on mine cracked during the installation. I would also like to add that its hard to get the action in and out of this so if you do that allot for cleaning please consider that. Another note I will point out is that you cannot remove the picatinny rails on the end, they leave behind stand offs they screw onto. I paired this with a DIP 3/8 dovetail to pic rail so I could mount a reddot and it looks only half ugly with the promags sticking out of it. It comes with 4 plastic bits: One to block the mag tube if your using a 795 and not a model 60, one enclosed in the hand grip front for the 795 action to ride on, two under the trigger guard for a 795 or a 60.
Pros:
  • Cheap
  • Solid (For polymer)
Cons:
  • Fitment required
  • Hard to remove and install into
  • Non removable pic rails on front
  • Complete lack of documentation
Best Used for:
  • Compact storage
