I purchased the Proof Research SS Drop-in for the savage in 6CM caliber. The barrel was easily installed and the craftsmanship from Proof was impeccable. The barrel arrived as promised from Optics Planet very timely and well packaged to avoid any damage to the threads on both ends. After installing the barrel and taking it to the range for the first set of ladder loads I found that it shot well beyond the capabilities of the factory savage barrel. It produces .25-.75 moa groupings at 100 yards with 3 different bullets. I will be purchasing more of these barrels as hopefully they will start providing more caliber offerings. I will love to purchase on in the 6.5 PRC caliber for another DIY build.
