Poor heel construction; between the heel inner and outer lining there is a support made of plastic. When I purchased originally, summer 2018, within a month the support broke into pieces upon itself rubbing into my ankle. Propper sent me a new pair of boots an I sent the faulty ones back for review. Within 3 months of total wear over the course of a year ( I am a Reservist so only wear on drills and ANNU training, they fell apart again. I have a shoemaker removing the ankle pieces and sewing a piece of leather on the inside. Propper wants me to send original receipt, which I will do. Requested upgrade to better boot, if they have one with no heel plastic and I would pay difference. Still working this out.
Cons:
- Made in China, Poor heel construction and tough to fix.

Very impressed so far. I ordered my regular size and they fit like a glove. Can't beat the price here either, what a great deal. Soft and don't feel like they need any break in period. Not heavy but they seem well made, thank you optics planet!

Great boot. Would have been a 5-star rating except for one point: sizing.
I would recommend selecting 0.5 size smaller for this boot than the normal show size you wear.
I selected my normal shoe size, and it fits good, but I feel like it would be better if 0.5 size smaller.
Also, appearance-wise, the boot tends to be a little bulky looking to begin with, so the 0.5 size smaller will also help you not look like you're wearing big, clunky boots.
Otherwise, the quality and construction of the boot is great, is real good value for the price when compared to competing brands. Also, the design strikes a good balance between functional and subdued (not overly tactical looking).
The best part of the function of the boot is the lacing hardware. The design of the loops and the material of the strings make it easy to quickly tighten and loosen (even without a side zipper), which is one annoying point about brands such as Timberland.
Overall, I love this boot and would readily recommend it.
Pros:
- Lacing hardware
- Design and construction
Cons:
- Sizing, need to select 0.5 size smaller than you normally wear
