Most Helpful Positive Review Not perfect, but close.
I've had a problem with coyotes lately, so I decided to explore some NV options. I ordered this scope, and also borrowed a military-grade Gen 3+ / Aimpoint Comp M4 set up from a friend for comparison. In extreme dark the Gen 3+ is vastly better. The Gen 3+ is clearer and focuses faster. If I were in a CQB situation and on the go, the N850 wouldn't cut it. It seems to need a LOT of ambient light to work without the IR flashlight. With the IR light on the quality of the image greatly improves. On the otherhand, the N850 is perfect for night hunting. The image is very clear out to 100 yards ...

Pulsar n850

First n850 lasted 4 months. Not holding POI. Replaced under warranty. New scope. Brand new out of the box scope is difficult to start up. Controler button is sticky in some positions. Used for a 16 mths as a hand held spotting scope. Mounted on 223 rifle and wont hold poi. Now after one and a half years this scope wont turn on. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH SCOPE. DO NOT BUY THIS SCOPE. I SUSPECT THAT PULSAR EQUIPTMENT IS GARBAGE. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL THIS PROCUCT!!!!!!!BUYER BEWARE.

Night Vision

Great scope does everything advertised. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is daytime washout. I tried to sight my scope on a sunny day and the target was washed out. I called Pulsar who says that is normal. Makes zeroing very difficult.

Pulsar Digisight N850 LFR

Effective in near dark conditions without IR illuminator. Built in IR illuminator very effective in total darkness. Resolution is a little on the grainy side. Good, solid night vision system that would be effective for most situations.

  • Night hunting at close range or larger game
