I looked and looked for a good thermal but like many others, I was on a limited budget. I live in Texas and do more night hunts than day. Found this and fell in love with it. Detection at 900 yards is no joke. IDENTIFICATION is in the 150 range for me for similar sized objects (coyote vs dog, pigs vs calfs/cows). However, I'm not shooting ANYTHING at night farther than 75-100 yards. SO this is perfect.
For the money this is a very solid unit. I still want a NV handheld for stalking but using this for long-range detection, weapons mounted scope, and tracking I don't think this can be beat for the money

Pros:
- reticle options
- Zero settings for 3 separate rifles
- User interface of menu/settings
- Durability/size (very compact when you take the rubber eyepiece off)
- QD mount for movement from handheld to weapons mount (separate accessory)
- Green tube for eye relief
- built in objective cover
Cons:
- No Ranging capabilities
- reticle doesn't change color when hovering over "hot" objects
- objective focus
Best Used for:
- night hunting
- Detection
