mp's Review of Pulsar Helion XP38 1.9-15.2x32mm Thermal Imaging Monocular

All I can say is...WOW! I spent several months investigating handheld and rifle thermal scopes, comparing specifications and primarily videos to make a decision. I was taking a risk with the Pulsar Helion as they are brand new and finding one to view in person was impossible but I cannot emphasize how impressed I am with this system. Firstly, do NOT judge the image quality by the videos you see online. The actual image is SIGNIFICANTLY better than anything I have seen in videos. It is like you are looking through a weird standard binocular with everything is in crisp detail, especially at base magnification. The picture-in-picture feature is a huge advantage. I scan the viewing area with the wide field of view provided by optical magnification and when I find something of interest it is immediately displayed at higher magnification in the PIP window. You cannot go too high in magnification without losing edge detail, but this is true of all thermal scopes and in this case, there is no pixelation but rather a blurring of the edges of the image. All of the features are working flawlessly, and the build quality is apparent the minute you take it out of the box. Folks, if you are spending the money on a thermal scope, it will be well spent on this device. Well done Pulsar.
