Most Helpful Positive Review Pulsar - 940 IR Flashlight
Folks this IR works best with Gen 2,3 and digital NV not gen 1.It has a low to no glow 940 beam which means when you look at the front lens you see no to very very little red glow when its turn on compared to 805 or 850 IR Illum's which glow red at the lens base making them visable in use when you ...

Most Helpful Negative Review It works...
I purchased this because of the rating.. 100 yards, I think. It is far weaker than that. I thought maybe the batteries were weak, so I changed with fresh set and still very weak. Mine only illuminates maybe 10-20 yards and that is with a fully narrow beam. It is really not useful at all. I woul...

polaris pulsar 940 infrared flashlight

by Jim, from OK, United States Written on July 9, 2015
Fits great on my sightmark 4.6x42s photon night vision scope. The one on the scope can be seen by other people and has a shorter range. The Polaris 940 is virtually undetectable by humans. Has also increased usable distance. Can be adjusted from flood to spot.
Pros:
  • Uses AA batteries
  • Made for this particular night vision scope
Cons:
  • Weaver mount only

Pulsar 940

Works great. Now I'm nocturnal. Able to zoom or flood the area. It even works well handheld with monocular style Night Vision. It does great in pitch black darkness and even under small light displays

Pulsar Polaris 940 NM Infrared - Great For Generation 2+, 3 and 4 Night Vision Equipment

by Rainbow Seeker, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on January 25, 2015
I use these on several types of night vision equipment. They are surprising powerful and the beam is adjustable from wide to spot. These are great for adding additional light power to units that already have a smaller light source. Due to the 900+ nanometer wavelength, they do not work with Generation 1 and early Generation 2. The 940NM does not emit any red glow. Highly recommended

Pulsar 940

by Legacy Reviewer, from UT, United States Written on May 17, 2014
Works excellent for what it was intended for. Digital night vision. Normal amplifier tubes don't really see into the further reaches of the infrared spectrum that this thing really stands out in. But it is invisible to the naked eye which is great all around. I use mine with a standard amp tube nv pair most of the time for map reading as the light does not overwhelm the text like most lights because it is so dim. One disappointing feature is the beam adjustment. It plain out does not function. It is a constant narrow spot. All in all if you are looking for an ultra bright flashlight to use with gen 1,2 or midgrade 3 THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT. It was designed for digital nightvision.
Pros: Not visible to naked eye, water resistant
Cons: Beam focus does not work

It is a decent supplent

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on February 18, 2012
The unit seems to be a decent supplent to my Digisight N550 Night Scope - definetly a step up from the scope's built in light. Also definetly better then the 805 I tried before this unit. I think this unit is made for the Digisights. I hunt over bait and have a few trees in my line of sight. I do get too much reflection off the trees from the light. I plan on taking the trees down soon and then Im sure the unit will be much better in an open & wider shooting lane.

Works Well

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from NM, United States Written on July 31, 2010
Works as advertised. Has an unnecessary lip that prevents it being mounted on Picatiny rails. Will only mount to nightvision scope.
Pros: Small and effective
Cons: Weaver mount only
