Best Digital NV for the price
I would recommend this unit for anyone wanting true NV use. This is not a toy as are most Gen1 units. You would be hard pressed not to be impressed with this scope. This unit works and displays an excellent picture on my 42" big screen. Do recommend you use lithium batteries for best longevity and performance.
Pros: enhanced contrast setting, AV output/input with furnished cable. excellent recognition, built in IR flashlight,
Cons: IR flashlight needs to be 940nm for stealth use.
12"blacksnake

Hog Spotter
I just got back from a TX hog hunt. The 550 worked much better than expected. We put two guys in a blind, one with the 550 and the other with a rifle with a night scope. The spotter acquires targets and holds then in the IR beam, making it super easy for the shooter to find the hog in his scope. We used the 550 out to ranges of 100 yds or so and it worked very well. The four AA batteries were still going strong after 3 nights of hunting. The IR beam is very bright. We also used it to spot and stalk with close to zero ambient light and had success.
The FOV is small but the unit is small and light so it's easy to scan a large area quickly. If you're just watching a feeder, the FOV is plenty without moving it around. The buttons are simple to operate in the dark. The on/off and IR buttons are the only ones we used. The feature that changes the display color was not especially useful.
This is a very handy little spotter for the money. It is good enough to ID targets at range, small enough to carry in your pocket and saves having to shoulder your weapon every few minutes to scan for hogs. The battery life is good enough for three nights of hunting at least, which is good because the batteries would be a serious pain to change at night in a blind. The battery compartment is difficult to open and it's not easy to get the batteries in correctly. Other than that, I have no complaints whatsoever.

Pulsar Recon 550 NV - Best value for money
The Recon 550 NV is best for surveillance of limited areas, easy to use, in a range of 200 meters. You can encrease the IR range with a enhanced IR illuminator (mount on picatinny rail), and for recording uses, buy a Yukon digital recorder with a 32 GB MicroSD: up to 9 hours of recording without changin batteries. My 1 year experience.

Great Little Digital
Fantastic little unit. It has a very clear and crisp image, good contrast, with easy, ergonomic controls. I have used it on a skullcrusher and a weapon mount behind a red dot and it has performed very well. Much to the dismay of the coyote population. My only little complaint is that the 1/4" hole (for tripod or whatever) is threaded polymer instead of metal. I have had this on other things and it is so easy to strip the threads. Awsome unit for the price.

Fine night vision product
This is a fine value for the features. There are other models with additional features but the user has to weigh the cost of those for what the usage will be. I am a sportsman and this model has all i need with fine optics and surprisingly good screen resolution.
Pros: Simple to learn and use. Multiple color screen. IR controlled by user. 4x magnification. Easy on batteries. Fine screen resolution.
