Most Helpful Positive Review Pulsar addict
I have the thermion Xq38, the axion Xm30 hand held, and two trail XP38s, absolutely love them. The new thermion is exceptional. Clear field of view just as I have come to expect with my other Pulsar thermal optics. Designed more like a traditional scope and fits my bolt action rifles perfectly. I h...

Most Helpful Negative Review Returned, must have been defective
I bought Pulsar Thermion XQ38 when it first came available on Opticsplanet and had to wait two months to receive my scope (I'll give credit to COVID-19 on that) to find out that it does not work as it is supposed to. The scope seemed to work well for anything under 20 feet, after that it was a near ...

Poor Clariry

by Ron Cattera, from MI, United States Written on December 25, 2021
The unit is made well. The battery and housing was well thought out. The button lay out and the menu is very easy to navigate. The strap and the magnetic lens cap is genious. The unit itself is junk. It is awful and a total waste of money for identification period unless your under 75 yards. Even at 75 yards if its a deer you will be able to identify but if its a rabbit or a ground hog or a raccoon or a turkey good luck. It is a blurry blob with no definition on outer lines. The refresh rate is very slow and it occurs very often. I will say that I am testing in a cold and humid environment. Coyote hunting in the North East. In cold, slight fog or snow on ground conditions it is usless. Unless your hunting light blobs! If you use the picture in picture the mag is 7x in the picture and at that power everything is a blur at even 50 yards. The battery life is less then 3 hours if you are actually using it. The Pulsar sight says 6 hour battery life in first few sentences then as you scroll down under specifications it says 5 hr life! In reality 3 hours. I cant say the quality is bad in perfect conditions because we dont have perfect conditions in Michigan. My buddies and I all agree on the poor quality that this monocular has. I will go back to wearing my ATN THOR 4 as a necklace to scan.
Pros:
  • Very well made
  • Very well made and very well thought out
Cons:
  • Poor performance
Best Used for:
  • Spotting light blobs
Would recommend: No

Hog Hunter 007

by Kevin Vaughn, from MS, United States Written on January 4, 2021
This unit is absolutely exceptional. I have both the XQ 38 and XP50. I actually like the XQ38 because of the weight difference. Both have superb optics. Once over the learning curve, they are both easy to use. Great product.
Pros:
  • too many to list
Cons:
  • Expensive but worth every penny
Would recommend: Yes
