I've had this scope for several months now and gone night hunting multiple times. It works great, but I wish the clarity was just a bit better. I wish I would've spent the extra money on the XP50LRF. If you can only afford this, it's awesome, it's a real game changer if you don't have any kind of night vision. If you are serious enough to be spending this much on a scope though, you can probably afford to go up to the XP. You can detect bigger animals like deer at over 1000yds, but identifying them is the hard part. Knowing the way things act I can tell you if it's a coyote or a deer at 600yds if it's moving, but if it's sitting still and you are just looking at it you can't tell the difference past about 250yds. If you have to tell the difference between a coyote and a neighbors dog you're going to need to be inside of 100 if not closer. I love it for scanning around the farm and seeing what is moving, if you are elevated you can even watch mice run around on the ground. I just wish I would've bit the bullet and spent the extra money on better resolution.

Great scope! Very clear and the rangefinder works very well. Make sure you at tech savy to set it up the way you want it. Video function takes great videos and it’s awesome to watch your whole hunt or to see where you shot. Over all great scope
