Bob Smith's Review of Radian Weapons Glock 19 Gen 6 and Glock 45 Gen 6 Ramjet 9mm Luger Non-Threaded Pistol Barrel w/Afterburner Compensator
I have a Gen 5 Glock 19 with a Radian Ramjet/Afterburner. When I bought the Gen 6 Glock 19 I did so thinking that same barrel/comp would work in the Gen 6, based on what Radian had said at SHOT Show in 2026. I ran a few hundred rounds through that setup with no issues. When Radian advised that per their discussions with Glock a user should not use the Gen 5 in the Gen 6 I stopped using the Gen 5 barrel/comp out of an abundance of caution.
This works the same as the Gen 5 version. I am using it with the Radian Compressor guide rod and recoil spring, specifically with the 15 lb. recoil spring. The machining is a bit more simplistic than the Gen 5 I have (I have an early version of the Gen 5 version), but other than that the function is essentially the same. Fit and finish is good and I have had no malfunctions since installing it (I did have to shift the POI on my red dot as the pistol impacted noticeably higher after the install). Using the Compressor, I have run both 115 gr and 124 gr without issues. I have also used 124 +P defensive ammunition (the barrel/comp really shines with hotter ammunition).
The barrel/comp makes a noticeable difference in the speed of follow up shots compared to the stock configuration. You can read forums posts until your eyes bleed with people debating how significant of a difference this makes. Yes the pistol is only 9mm. You can still notice a difference. Even a skilled shooter will notice a difference (I might argue a skilled shooter is more likely to notice a difference). There is not much difference shooting slow fire, so if that's your use case then this is unneeded.
I think the fairest critique of this product is the cost. It's worth remembering that you are getting a barrel and comp and the comp doesn't need to be timed to the barrel and you don't have to worry about thread locker. Still, the price is significant compared to the price of a basic Glock. I would always recommend to buy on a sale. Also, be mindful that this can put you in different division because of the comp.
