DocJekl's Review of Radian Weapons Glock 19 9mm RAMJET Barrel w/ AFTERBURNER Compensator

I have built three guns around these Radian Ramjet Afterburner compensated barrels. I started with a cheap used 1-year old Sig P365, to which I added a Grayguns laser stilled X macro grip and brass backspaced, to make it a full size pistol. I also added a Holosun red dot and Olight BALDR S light/laser. That pistol was shooting incredibly flat with less barrel rise, although it still has a noticeable backward recoil impulse with +P ammo. I was impressed enough that I then acquired another pair of these Radian compensated barrels for my pair of original 6-yr old P365, which have a Wilson Combat XL grip and Wilson short grip respectively. Previously, I had difficulty shooting the short grip P365 accurately or rapidly, but with the compensated barrel it’s much easier to control, and my groups are smaller with rapid fire. The difference is not miraculous or shocking like in some YouTube videos, but its noticeable with very little increase in size, so it doesn’t interfere with pocket carry in the smaller P365 models. For me, the difference is bigger with the two smaller P365’s with lighter / shorter grips. With the X macro grip with brass back spacer, the biggest improvement is that I don’t lose track of the red dot during recoil, even though without the compensator an X macro is fairly controllable.
Pros:
  • Shoots flatter, better control with short grips
Cons:
  • Adds 1/2 inch to pistol so may need to adjust holster
Best Used for:
  • EDC PISTOL
