Save your money and buy a TROMIX. They are the only company that specs for 458 SOCOM correctly.

. 458 SOCOM Upper
I purchased the .458 SOCOM upper a decade ago. From the start- failure to feed and to eject. Moved on to my other firearms figuring that I'd get to it eventually. Never did. Put it in my Jeep last fall along with other firearms. Pulled them out recently. All were perfect except for the Radical upper. The Radical looked like TEMU junk that spent the winter in the bilge of of an Atlantic fishing trawler. Sad. Chop saw time.

Accuracy Worse than Customer Service!
Using Black Butterfly ammunition and Vortex/EOTech/Nikon glass, couldn’t get this trash barrel to group better than 3” at 100yds. Sent it in to their “gunsmith” who said it was my optic…WHAT?! Little backstory, I am a precision shooter, using only the best components, ammunition, and glass on all of my firearms…the only sub-par component on the rifle I built was this trash barrel! Would give this product ZERO STARS IF ABLE! Threw a Tromix barrel (like my Tromix bolt) and I’m back to a sub MOA group out to 200yds…Radical Firearms is garbage, don’t waste your money or time!

Built like a tank. Runs perfect. No issues
I have put over 2 thousand rounds through her so far and have not had a single problem. Feeds perfectly and is accurate. Acccurate affordable and reliable. I suppose alot of the bad reviews are from Tromax fanboys.

IT SUCKS DO NOT BUY!
I bought this upper to take down hogs on hunts. I bought Lancer 458 magazines, but right out of the box I had problems. All of the problems are clambering in to the barrel, the feed ramps are jacked up. I had to spend an extra $200 and send it to Wardogs for them to fix it right and get it to fred right. Don't waste your money Radical firearms sucks!

Horrible upper
Terrible quality and very dangerous. Put around 10 rounds through it of normal powder load and the whole upper cracked in half breaking multiple thinks on my lower. Feed ramps are also completely off causing a malfunction chambering a round every time with multiple types of ammunition.

458shooter
I have three if these Radical 458socom uppers. all three are fit well and functioned flawlessly. They are great AR Thumpers. The muzzle brake does help with recoil at the expense of more noise to the shooter. Recoil is close to a gas operated 20 gauge. My kids and I love them.

Trouble with clambering multiple types/weights/brands ammo. Had to repeatedly mortar rounds out due to incomplete seating of the round. 5.57 style feed ramps are terrible. Had a round that failed to fully seat but still went bang. Damaged the barrel extension and bolt. Replaced bolt and cleaned up the feed ramp only to have it happen again. Ended up buying a new barrel, upper, and bolt to overcome the terrible quality of this product. I would have been better off buying a better product from the beginning.

Runs great! Great deal.
I was hesitant to purchase per some bad reviews and online forum chat. I said f it what’s the worst that can happen and I pulled the trigger on the upper (pun intended). Couldn’t be happier with the purchase. Clean the factory grease off and properly lubricate. I did polish (bridge) below feed ramp and ourchased a Lancer 458 socom mag. Runs great. I would recommend running H2 heavy buffer in your lower. This was a great bargain for me.

Can not beat the price
Wanted a socom 458 and started pricing the build. I found the upper listed and couldn’t build it for the price they were selling it for. Since receiving it I’ve gone to the range and run several brands and types of bullets with no issues.

Awesome project build starter
Bought this to hunt with. Not disappointed. Just needed to lube it up and have had no problems with it. Shoots great, feels great. Great product. Great price. I built a lower for it and it’s been one of my favorite guns to shoot. Packs a punch, but delivers devastating results. I have shot several different ammo types and brands and have not had one problem. If you are looking for an awesome complete upper this is it.
