bob's Review of Range Tool AR15 Forged Upper Receiver

So yes, the upper is cheap. Price is below most/on par with Anderson. However, if I was manufacturing and then selling any item, i’d make darn sure if there were significant cosmetic issues with an item, it’d be listed as such or not even selling it at all.

So here I sit with this Range Tool stripped upper. No “t” markings(no big), basic as basic. But then I notice that the area directly under the ejection port is not machined smooth/uniform but wavy, WAVY! To be clear, not the finish, the ACTUAL metal has concave waves on the material.

I also ordered an mlok rail from the same company and I have zero faith that the thing will be symmetrical, none the less blemish free.

So I’d say if you’re considering this upper, pay another $30 or so and get a product with some type of QC behind it. My particular upper looks like a CAD apprentice ran it through his 3D printer and figured “it’s 50 bucks, what’d they expect?”

Cheap shouldn’t translate to lack of product professionalism.
