It works fine
I bought 2 of these, and they seem to just like any other AR upper I’ve bought from different manufacturers. Didn’t see any gauges or anything wrong with it. Parts fit fine didn’t have anything loose or out of spec. Seems like a keeper to me.

cheap yes, but really?
So yes, the upper is cheap. Price is below most/on par with Anderson. However, if I was manufacturing and then selling any item, i’d make darn sure if there were significant cosmetic issues with an item, it’d be listed as such or not even selling it at all.
So here I sit with this Range Tool stripp...

Buy it at your own risk
This is my 3rd upper I’ve bought from Range Tool. The first 2 were fine, no problems. This one unlike the other two didn’t have a finish not that it mattered to me I was gonna paint it anyway and when assembling the barrel using a Del Ton barrel and don’t know if it was the barrel or upper but attaching the barrel was really tight where I had to like hammer the barrel in and out of all the uppers I’ve assembled (and I’ve done up to 10 uppers with different uppers) I have never had that problem even with the other 2 Range Tool uppers I had but managed to get the barrel on. And lastly another thing was i needed barrel nut shims again never had that with the others I’ve assembled. I bought this cheap upper just to have an upper that will shoot 22 LR. It’s now assembled but have yet to test fire it but I’m pretty sure once I get to it I think it’ll be fine it’s just a 22 after all. So even though I said no to would I recommend it, but I’ve also had good from Range Tool too which is why I said buy at your own risk.

do you like consistent QC? then pass on this
Made by amateurs or QC is non existent. Concave gouges in the metal, then coated. Really?
I guess I’ll stick with Andersons from now on.
The fact that I was sent/sold a product that was either a) hit with a hammer multiple times or b) machined by a blind man, is completely unacceptable. May not have paid hundreds but c’mon…..
