Almost made it. - Real Avid AR15 Easy Grip Handguard Removal Tool

I found the tool to be well made with two exceptions, and I am uncertain if there is an answer or easy fix for what I encountered. The arms on the tool are a touch too flexible, and the plastic coating is too fragile and will tear from the arms while pushing down to release the hand guard retainer. The retainer on my weapon was a little stubborn and did not want to release and slide downward at first. The plastic tore on the tool arms and marred the ribbed surface of the retainer. Whereas I was not pleased with the marring, the tool did it’s job and I give it a 4 out of 5 due to the potential to damage the finish on the retainer.
