Almost made it.
I found the tool to be well made with two exceptions, and I am uncertain if there is an answer or easy fix for what I encountered. The arms on the tool are a touch too flexible, and the plastic coating is too fragile and will tear from the arms while pushing down to release the hand guard retainer. The retainer on my weapon was a little stubborn and did not want to release and slide downward at first. The plastic tore on the tool arms and marred the ribbed surface of the retainer. Whereas I was not pleased with the marring, the tool did it’s job and I give it a 4 out of 5 due to the potent...

This thing is amazing.
One other review compared it to having a third hand. That sealed it for me, and it is actually just that easy. I have an A2 slip ring, and it makes attaching A1 and A2 handguards a breeze. Get it.

Required for Handguard Change
Yes this is required for handguard removal (if you have a mil spec M16/M4 one and you want to switch with a magpul MOE)
Just be careful when you are pulling this (requires a bit of force), this can scratch if not careful

Where was this until now?
This is the perfect tool to remove the M4 handguards. I've tried many different ways to remove the stupid handguards in the past. Then, I saw this on a YouTube video, and knew I had to have one! Makes disassembly and modification so much easier! I highly recommend this tool if you plan to change handguards on ARs.

delta ring wrench/tool
Greetings:
I read many reviews covering these Delta Ring Tools made by various manufacturers. I’ve yet to read the review covering the “Perfect” tool.
Having received my Real Avid version today & immediately took it out of the box & proceeded to use it to attempt to remove an existing hand guard from one of my AR’s. The spring securing that two piece hand guard is very stiff. I’m guessing that due to my never performing this task before, I had to attempt the process multiple times to successfully remove the hand guard. The delta ring has definitive 90 degree ridges in its’ contour that can & will cut thru the protective rubberish covering on the tool rods. After several attempts to remove the initial hand guard & then several attempts to install the new hand guard, the sharp edges on the delta ring indeed did cut thru the rubber/plastic protective covering on the rods of the tool. I’m not aware of any other material that could be used to cover the rods that would not be susceptible to tearing/cutting on the edges of the delta ring. It’s just the nature of the beast. Next I will try wrapping the rods with a good quality electrical tape such as a 3M product.
The 3M tapes that come in the milky looking translucent plastic containers are very high quality tapes. But even that will not be a one time application that will last indefinitely. As far as the performance of the tool, it did what it is designed to do; collapse the delta ring.
