Unless you are using the AR15 often and cleaning often - you may miss a step. Great guide for those of us that don't shoot often and want to keep our rifles in clean condition. P.S. It's not tinny for us with less than perfect eyes - I can use it without my reading glasses.

This tool is a great guide, very easy to use. Anyone new to the AR15 world will appreciate this guide! I will be recommending this to anyone who needs it!
Pros: Pocket Sized, laminated, very informational and easy to follow
Cons: The chain holding it together does not allow for easy page changing.

I think anyone who owns a ar-15 should own one of these. I like how the information is straight to the point and the pictures explain everything in detail. The only thing that I would change is the front and back pages to a metal so it could handle the weather better.

The Real Avid AR15 Field Guide is a fantastic tool if you own an AR-15. It is has very detailed instructions for taking apart and putting the AR-15 back together. It is very useful for cleaning and lubricating the AR-15. I have been using an AR-15 for over twenty years in law enforcement and was very impressed with the details especially how much oil to use. The Real Avid AR15 Field Guide is small enough to take with you anywhere. You can place it in your hard or soft gun case and leave it there and do not need to worry about it taking up too much space. The pictures were clear and detailed. I also liked the details of how to thoroughly clean and scrape many parts of the gun with the scraper.

Cons: The only thing I would change is the linked wire binder, it gets snagged and bunched up when using the Field Guide, a smooth round binder or zip tie might work better.

Excellent detailed guide, I would highly reccomend it to everyone that is an AR owner. It is very through. I didn't know how to take the firing pin out, now I know how to do it and it's easy to remember now. A++++

The Real Avid AR field guide is a great idea for someone like me who just purchased a AR. It gives great instructions on disassembly and cleaning, plus the pages are oil and solvent resistant. The small size make it easy to carry in a pocket or range bag.

Obviously shooting an AR15 it isn't too difficult, but it can seem very intimidating to break down and clean compared to your average hunting rifle. This Real Avid AR15 Field Guide is the perfect tool to take away the intimidation of breaking down your AR rifle. From a number diagram that shows you the names of the different parts of your gun, to step by step instructions, including which tools you'll need to clean the rifle, this field guide is a must have. It easily fits in your pocket or ammo bag if you want to take it out shooting. If you are interested in properly cleaning and maintaining your AR rifle, the Real Avid AR15 Field Guide is a must have item. I would have done a much better job maintaining my rifle if I had this field guide to help give me the confidence to take it apart and reassemble it.

As someone who has built and helped build several AR-15's I found the Real Avid AR15 Guide to be a very valuable tool. I think that beginners and experts alike would benefit from this guide because it breaks down each section of the AR-15 piece by piece and gives you easy to follow yet precise instructions on how to care for and maintain your AR-15. Another great aspect of this product is the size. It is large enough to keep around on your workbench without getting lost and also compact enough to slip into your range bag for quick access at the range or in the field.

I bought my first AR late last year after the scare of not being able to own one started fading. I've only fired about 500-rounds through it so it's still pretty new. I've been putting off cleaning it for a while since it's a little more complex than my bolt action rifle, and shotguns. This past weekend I finally decided to clean it, so I cleared off the table, grabbed my cleaning kit & Field Guide, and went to town. I was a little worried about getting solvent and oil over the cards, so I'd wipe my hands off, turn the card, get dirty again, and repeat. Towards the end I stopped caring, and got my oily prints all over them. When I was done, I just wiped them down -- good as new. The diagrams are clear and easy to understand, and I like that they tell you how much oil each part needs. This is a great product for anyone who is new to the platform, and might be a little uncomfortable breaking the gun down to clean.
