This compact stock requires a shorter 8-1/4" stock bolt. (Standard size 870's use a 10 1/4" bolt.) The OpticsPlanet customer service specialist told me that the original 10 1/4" bolt is suppose to be used with it. I tried this and was left with a 2 inch gap between the stock and the action. I did my research, and this Remington kit is indeed suppose to come with the shorter bolt, but for some reason it is not included on here. Other than regretting my decision to purchase from OpticsPlanet, this is an awesome stock. Super light and aesthetically pleasing. I just purchased a bolt elsewhere for $6.
