Most Helpful Positive Review Revision Sawfly Glasses
Battle tested and approved; I was first issued my Revision Sawfly's at Basic Training in Fort Benning, Georgia and I've been a huge fan ever since. Before I deployed to Iraq, it was the first piece of equipment I bought. I especially find the compability with the prescription lenses I issued to be the best feature. I've been pleased with the product's durability as well. The only drawback is the headband is kidn of uncomfortable. Pros: Durability, Compatible w/ Prescription Lenses, Aesthetic Value Cons: Wish it had a better headband

Very Mediocre and Lenses Delaminate

by Pattersaurus, from OR, United States Written on January 10, 2025
The fit and comfort on the SawFly is okay. It's nothing to write home about, but the price is good. I guess you get what you pay for though, because my SawFly lenses (both the tinted and clear) are both delaminating to the point where I can't wear them any more. I take care of all my glasses... sunglasses and prescription, so it's not a matter of abuse. Guess I should have bought something better from the beginning. Very disappointing.
Pros:
  • Comfort
  • fitment
Cons:
  • Quality
  • Delaminating Lenses

Maybe I have a tiny head

by Angry Little Asian Man, from TX, United States Written on May 5, 2020
Like many others, I got issued a pair of these at basic training and RFI for deployment. Some people like them, but I'm not really a fan.
I mean, they work as well as any other pair of eye protection, and for those with Rx inserts, you don't have to swap out the nose piece. Though they don't clip in or retain by any means other than just slipping on, so. Be careful.
They scuff about as much as any other set, but then the most care I ever gave these or any other pair of eye pro was putting them in the microfiber bag and throwing them in my pocket. So I suppose I can't really fault Revision for that. User error, mostly.
The lenses are easy enough to switch between tinted and clear, although I kept feeling like I was going to break them with how much I had to bend the frame.
My problem with the Sawfly is the frame. Now, my cap size is a 7 ¼. I don't think I have a tiny head, but I HAVE to use the elastic strap to keep them on my face. No amount of bending the flexible arms would get them to hug my head, but then the arms didn't hold their bend anyway.
If you aren't worried about using the elastic, or you have the right (LARGE) head size for these, maybe they're for you. For eye protection, they're pretty cheap. So if you find yourself some place that you have to wear eye protection but aren't going to be running around with these bouncing up and down on your face, give these a go.
Pros:
  • Cheap
  • ballistic
  • swappable lenses
  • easy drop-in for Rx
Cons:
  • need to use strap

Revision Eyewear Sawfly - shotgun pellet proof! Highly recommend, you only get one pair of eyes!

by movealongnothingtoseehere, Verified Owner from MT, United States Written on February 28, 2016
If you do not know about these eye shields, do your home work, see: Revision Eyewear SAWFLY Glasses Shotgun Test: https://youtu.be/SGXoTAJB_IU ALSO SEE: http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/eye-protection-shooting-glasses-review/
My Optics Planet purchase was placed on backorder but was eventually filled. Package arrived in perfect condition and sized as ordered. The eye shield is optically perfect. Fit was good. If you order, pay close attention to sizing, my family has drastically differing head sizes and correct sizing is important for best fit and protection. See here:

Not inexpensive, but you only get one pair of eyes, protect them!

Great sun/safety glasses!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on September 28, 2013
For those who have a more petite frame, like myself, the small frame sunglasses fit very well. They're comfortable, and with the interchangeable lens, they're great in any environment.

Demo or shooting Range, motorcycle or Jet Ski, day or night these glasses fit the bill. Not a lick of problem, carrying bag protects the lens, just as clear and scratch free as the day I got them. Last eyepro you will ever need.
Pros: No matter the use these provide needed protection and look good too!!!
Cons: Affraid I'll loose them
