AC's Review of Rifle Basix Marlin Rimfire Trigger

Trigger is off specification for a Marlin Model 25. As many have said before, factory Safety will no longer function. Firearm can be fired when the Safety is fully engaged. Seer does not engage 1/4 the time when on heaviest setting. In this, seer disconnects from trigger while bolt is being locked into position, setting off the firing pin. In addition, the bolt cannot be removed when the trigger is pulled, even on the lightest setting.

They do mention many things in their instructions.

“Do not trust a manual safety. Always keep a round out of the chamber until ready to fire.” But....they blame it on correct firearms handling. The fact that the factory safety is useless is a design flaw on their part.

Seer would never engage trigger on lightest setting. As you tighten it up, it does engage more. Only about 75% engagement when tightened all the way. Anything less than 100% is unacceptable.

They do mention that bolt would not come out when trigger is depressed when trigger spring is on the heaviest setting. I moved it back to the lightest setting and .... it still would not let the bolt come out. I had to take the action out of the stock and depress the seer with a screwdriver.

In addition, the trigger had sharp edges on the bottom tip of the trigger. Just poor fit and finish. I expect more from a “drop-in” trigger....especially for the price.

The only thing worse than the crappy factory trigger....is this thing. I am going back to the crappy factory Marlin trigger. Sent it back! Never again!!!
