Experienced Shortcoming with Rival Arms Guides Rod Assembly for Glock 44
I purchased and installed a stainless steel Rival Arms guide rod for my .22 caliber Glock 44. When I test fired my weapon at the range, it worked well. I did notice a problem that bugs me. When I draw the slide back and allow it to move forward slowly, the slide has a problem moving all the way back into battery (closing all the way). This happens both with and without magazine in the gun. There are no obstructions or rough areas any where in or around the slide, barrel or guide rod. When I go back and reinstall the Glock OEM guide rod this problem is nonexistent as the slide goes into battery completely every time with no drag. I believe that the problem is the way the Rival Arms spring juts out in a back and forth manner when it is compressed.

awesome product
This is a great addition to the g44. Im a believer in steel guide rods in all my handguns. I think they feel and look better than plastic and this one is no exception. It fit perfect and i prefer the recoil impulse you get with the single flat wire spring this has opposed to the dual round wire factory rod
