Buy american - RIX STORM S6 35mm Thermal Imaging Rifle Scope

These units claim to be manufactured in the US but are actually Chinese. The mount is proprietary and sheared off under recoil from a 5.56 rifle, the metal used in the mount and retaining bolt is noticeably low quality. I returned the unit for this reason. The throw lever for focus is poorly designed and does not mount securely, it also does not allow for full adjustment of the focus ring.

The sensor itself is pretty good for the price, but has a lower refresh rate and worse clarity than US-made 640x480 60hz sensors from Nvision or Trijicon. Overall, it is well priced for the sensor quality, but there are manufacturing and quality issues that would make me nervous betting my life on this unit in combat. Saving up another 2k for a higher-quality thermal from Nvision or Trijicon is likely worth it.
