These units claim to be manufactured in the US but are actually Chinese. The mount is proprietary and sheared off under recoil from a 5.56 rifle, the metal used in the mount and retaining bolt is noticeably low quality. I returned the unit for this reason. Nice 640 thermal
Had for a couple weeks now and I am happy so far. Easy to navigate menus and zero. All good so far.
Pros:

Rix storm 2
This scope out performs the handheld monoculars of the same power of other brands. At a cheaper price. I use it for a scanner

Best thermal under $3000
When I purchased the Rix Storm S6 thermal I was just wanting a back up thermal but after spending time at the range zeroing it which is super simple and then I took it hunting. I was so impressed with the clarity and imaging that it now has become my primary thermal and I’m so impressed with the quality and how well it works.
