Big boot good boot

Loved the peice for the boot. However, I ordered the same size boot I always wear(12) and it was rubbing on my ankles to the point of bleeding after one day. I'm sure it just needs to be broken in. The boot is huge on my foot and very loose around everything that's not my ankle. The boot looks well made and with great material. It looks heavy but it's very deceiving and is actually light for its size. Over all good boot. Maybe my foot is wrong?
