Just as i expected

Had no issues for quality of product, is very comfortable and perfect fitting (would recommend a size larger if wanting it to be baggy) overall good product, would actually prefer this jacket over my OCP jacket any day.

Authentic Reproduction?

by Nam 71-72, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on April 1, 2024
I ordered a large for layering purposes, I am 5 lbs. over my weight in Vietnam and this jackets fits more like a trim medium than a large. GI uniforms wrere notoriously baggy, particularly in the jungle fatigues. This jacket is not. There was a button missing on the sleeve replaced with a gaping hole, not acceptable. Color scheme is close to the remnants of my original faded issue tiger stripe jacket. Pockets are missing "weep" holes and sewn toght to the shirt on the sides; my original was not. Buttons on the jacket are black, mine are OG Green, not a big deal as black does match part of the camo scheme, again, not the same as my original. The fabric weight is 50-60% of that of my original even after 50+ years and years of wear after I left the service.

My objection is two-fold, first it is not, in my opinion, an "authentic" reproduction of a Vintage Vietnam Fatigue Shirt. Second considering my comparison to an actual Vietnam issue fatigue jacket I would suggest a price point of $20.00 max. not the $55.99 that I paid for the item.
Pros:
  • Color looks very close
Cons:
  • Size, quality and price
