Poor quality control. anything from 1-3/4 to 4 pounds pull. - Ruger BX Drop-In Replacement Trigger For 10/22 Rifles / 22 Charger Pistols

The BX trigger I received measured 2.0 pounds trigger pull (with a decent clean break), measured with two calibrated gauges - both spring and digital. Unfortunately, this is a half-pound below the minimum spec listed on the package - it says "Releases at 2.5 - 3.0 LBS". The package also shows a graph (force versus pull length) of the BX trigger pull with let-off at exactly 2.75 pounds. Having the actual pull be 1/2 pounds less than the minimum spec shows poor quality control on the part of Ruger.

In searching about this after I got my trigger, posters online on several firearms sites have reported a very wide range of trigger pulls on the BX triggers from 1-3/4 pounds to 4 pounds or more - a very wide range. So if you buy one, just be aware that you could get anything in that range, and it may be either too light or too heavy for what you want. It may be preferable to simply very LIGHTLY polish (not sand or grind!) your stock trigger hammer and sear with metal polish and put in a lighter trigger plunger spring - which can bring your pull to around 4-5 pounds, down from the stock rough six pounds (or often more.) There are several videos online about how to do this. And gunsmiths do this all the time for a reasonable fee - just tell them the pull you want.
