Ruger got it right
I purchased three of these Ruger brand Extended Mag Releases when I first saw they were
available. Of all aftermarket extended magazine releases I have used, this one is the best one available. This includes releases from the big named custom shops.
Mag Release
Great mag release, in the perfect position. I have the folding archangel stock and the release is too wide to fold inside itself. So I put it on my sons 10/22. Ah well

Best Extended Mag Release
IMO this is the best 10/22 extended mag release. Nice and low profile, doesn't look overly flashy, extremely functional, doesn't obstruct the bolt catch button, is not so hilariously long that you will have accidental magazine drops.
Pros:
- Cheap
- Low profile
- Functional
- OEM Part
- Reserved Aesthetics
Cons:
- None

Looks great, sits flush with trigger guard.
Functions as expected.

Great Extended Mag Release
One of, if not the best option for an extended mag release for the 10/22. Just a little pricey for what it is.

So much easier
With big hands this makes it much easier to release the magazines.

Why is it not the standard mag release?
God knows why Ruger decided to not just updated the standard 10/22 mag release to this design. It's is massively superior in every way to the normal release lever. Super easy to use and operate with one finger. You never have to look or feel around for it because it sits right on the trigger guard. Just a quick poke forward from your trigger finger and your mag drops out. It's ambi so good for left or right handed shooters. Definitely recommend, just wish it was the standard. It is also really easy to install. Takes all of 30 seconds once you have the trigger exposed (you don't need to remove the trigger group from the action/receiver to install, just take it out of the stock/chassis).
Also note, I have the Ruger Red BX Trigger which now shows it comes with this in the pictures. If that's true and why it went up $10-15, then it's totally worth getting the Red over the grey. Mine did not come with it though.
