Teachu2's Review of Ruger BX-1 10/22/SR/77/Charger .22 LR 10 Round Rotary Magazine

I have several 10/22s and have found that the clear magazines ALL have the same issue. The spot where the plastic was injected into the mold to make the body is always rough and sits a bit proud of the side of the magazine - just a tiny bit. You can feel it with your finger, and it hangs up in the magazine well of many 10/22s. Some owners sand their magazine wells, but I sand or scrape the magazines instead. Just got four more today from OP, and just used my pocketknife to scrape off the excess. Took about two minutes for the four, including testing in a gun. In the past, I've used sandpaper, a hobby knife, and a very fine emery board to accomplish the same task. If you use the wife's fingernail file, prepare to sleep on the couch.....
If you plan on going to an Appleseed event, the clear magazines make the process easier (IF you clean up the rough spot!!!). I've not had the same issue with the black ones, but I prefer the clear. All my black ones came with the gun, all my additional ones are clear.
