Fixing the clear ones is easy
Written on May 02, 2020
I have several 10/22s and have found that the clear magazines ALL have the same issue. The spot where the plastic was injected into the mold to make the body is always rough and sits a bit proud of the side of the magazine - just a tiny bit. You can feel it with your finger, and it hangs up in the magazine well of many 10/22s. Some owners sand their magazine wells, but I sand or scrape the magazines instead. Just got four more today from OP, and just used my pocketknife to scrape off the excess. Took about two minutes for the four, including testing in a gun. In the past, I've used sandpaper, a hobby knife, and a very fine emery board to accomplish the same task. If you use the wife's fingernail file, prepare to sleep on the couch.....
If you plan on going to an Appleseed event, the clear magazines make the process easier (IF you clean up the rough spot!!!). I've not had the same issue with the black ones, but I prefer the clear. All my black ones came with the gun, all my additional ones are clear.

Best bang for the buck!

I think this is a perfect match to the S&W M&P 15-22. Everything works as it should, and it looks like it was designed to fit the rifle. 3-12, AO, easy to set up, QD rings, sunshade...what's not to love?

Excellent value

I bought this to go on a heavyweight 10/22 build. It's every bit as good as the other reviewers have said. It's not a Leupold VX-3 or a Nikon Monarch, but it's a very functional piece of gear at a small fraction of the cost. It is far above everything I've seen anywhere it's price, and better than most at twice the price. I'm considering one for a .22-250 varmint rifle, where a 3-9 isn't quite enough. Try one out!

Outstanding Scope, Outstanding Value!

This scope replaces the VX-II 3-9x33 in the Leupold lineup. I was fortunate enough to snag a VXII when they were discontinued, and found it to be a fantastic scope for a quality .22 rimfire. As it should be, given it's price. I would have gladly purchased another, but they got even pricier on the secondary market. Then Leupold released this new VX-Freedom version, at a substantially lower price. I ordered one, knowing that OpticsPlanet would take it back if I wasn't satisfied.
I will be keeping it. While the VX-II is more classically appealing on the outside, the new VX-Freedom is every bit as good (and maaaybe a little better) optically, which matters more to me. I'm more than satisfied with it. I will be purchasing more of these, and from OpticsPlanet. Perfect compliment to my better rimfires.
