Light, sturdy, good price.
The mount itself is made of a nice steel, and since it's smaller than most mounts, it's a bit lighter too. The installation process does involve removal of the rear sight, but once it's on, it's on. It also sits back further than most mounts, so eye relief isn't really a problem your going to run in...

des NOT work on m1a
Past comments say this part works with M1a / m14 - this is untrue - therefore, it doesn’t meet my needs… other than that it seems as high quality as any sadlak product I have owned in the past.
Does not fit M1A
This is a top quality mount as is everything, I've purchased from Sadlak. Sadlak informed me, that it definitely does not work on the M1A/M14 rifles. I strongly recommend it for those who own the BM59 rifle. Customer service from both Sadlak and Optics Planet is top notch.
Pros:
- Extremely well made in the USA.
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- The BM59 rifle
Would recommend: Yes
Be careful when mounting
The front screw should be just about flush with the mount. Use the rear adjustment screw to press the front down and use just a little tension on the front. I had the front screw too far down and ended up 4 feet high at 50 yards!
Also use YouTube to find out how to remove the rear sight. Not intuitive to me at all.

Cons:
- Instructions could be clearer

Best steel scope mount that uses iron sight base!!
This is the best BM 59 scope mount, if you don't plan to return to the iron sights.
The mount is steel, and is solidly anchored to the receiver, by a through bolt through
the original sight ears. Install consists of removing the factory rear sight and bolting the rail into place. Make sure you mount your scope and check collimation before finally tightening all screws.
