I have used Safariland products throughout my career and have found them to be not only innovative but rugged and dependable. The details incorporated into the design and functionality of this product, ensure years of use in some of the most demanding situations. Out of the box, this holster required no adjustments. The fit is perfect and secures your equipment perfectly. I would highly recommend this holster to anyone needing or requiring a level III retention device.

So as I’m sure anyone else who owns Springfield’s XD-45 Mod 2 Tactical with the 5” barrel already know well, searching for holsters, especially holsters that support light or laser bearing firearms, is a complete nightmare when it comes to the Mod 2 Tactical. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent searching for one only to come up empty... until now. I just received my order from OpticsPlanet and I am very excited to say that my search is finally over. The active retention measures on the holster are spot on and the overall operation of the holster’s mechanics are smooth and seamless. The holster grips my weapon very securely when its engaged, yet allows my weapon to glide out smoothly on the draw (something even more important when considering my weapon is painted with camouflage paint and whose texture will usually cause issues with friction in other holsters like it does with my Blackhawk Omega paddle holster, issues that in a make or break situation, where the loss of even fractions of a second can have dire consequences, greatly matter). But overall, the long and short of it is that I am greatly impressed with Safariland’s product so far and I would highly highly recommend it to the other 5” Mod 2 Tactical users out there. **Side note- these holsters are also compatible with a number of other accessories such as the paddle holster and drop leg platform rigs which I have ordered for my rig already.
