Outstanding Holster
This holster from Safariland is very ideal for your light bearing 1911. 1. it is cost effective, and 2 it is easy to mount to your belt and leg mount. I just tested this holster on my Tisas 1911, bearing a TLR 1 HL and TLR 1. Both the weapon and the lights were perfectly with the holster, and its easy to put on the fork so you can mount it to your leg mount. Awesome product as always with Optics planet. One thing to add, it will not work with a threaded barrel. Thank you
Pros:
- Works & fits great
Cons:
- no threaded barrel use, not suppressor compatible
Best Used for:
- tactiacal firearms
Would recommend: Yes
Good level 3 holster (but you knew that)
Great holster for duty use or open carry, if that's your thing. The hood takes a little breaking in + a drop or two of oil to really smooth out, and after a few hundred draws it feels a lot better than it originally did. Anyone getting a holster like this, I highly recommend watching Milspec Mojo's video on the level 3 draw. Being fast with this holster is absolutely not intuitive, but we still need to hold ourselves to that professional level as armed and responsible citizens.
Pros:
- durable
- Very secure
- High quality kydex and molding
Cons:
- Difficult to draw quickly
- Requires some break in
Best Used for:
- Duty/open carry
Would recommend: Yes
Safariland!
I have worked in law enforcement for nearly half my life. I have always used Safariland holsters in both on-duty and off-duty applications. I recently medically retired, but still train professionally in firearms. Safariland has been my go-to holster. I had a hard time finding a holster for my new Springfield Operator/X300 combo. I found this one and was not disappointed.
Pros:
- Quality
- Accessories available
- Durable and lightweight
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- duty
- Training
Would recommend: Yes
Fits with Streamlight TLR1
Love this holster. It fits my Kimber TLE II and Tisas Duty with a Streamlight TLR1. I have the p320 insert on the Streamlight and it works great. The design is slightly different than my ALS for a Glock 17. This holster has more material by your thumb that prevents you from disengaging the safely when you draw, but it make the ALS a lot more difficult to defeat. Especially if you’re used to the ALS with other guns. I cut off the the extra material and now if feels exactly like my Glock 17 ALS holster. Now drawing is how I’m used to but the thumb safety disengages when I draw, which is a bonus in my opinion but I could see how other would have an issue with it. Overall very happy with it.
Pros:
- Duty use quality
Cons:
- May require a little filing
Best Used for:
- Not much it cannot handle, except CCW
Would recommend: Yes
