Most Helpful Positive Review Awesome Rig
This is a strong and comfortable outerbelt. It provides a lot of adjustments due to the hole construction and the velcro on the inside. If you use the ELS system then you can place holsters in any position. The same if the waist size. If you use holsters with velcro, the entire inside of the bel...

Most Helpful Negative Review A lot depends on personal preference
Let me start off by saying that a lot of my review is personal preference. I wanted a good stuff competition belt and I like the Safariland ELS fork/plate system, so this belt made sense to try. I do like that the ELS plates attached through the prefabbed holes in the belt, which means you get mor...

Safariland competition belt

by Packaging Fail, from CA, United States Written on July 19, 2023
This is the second belt I've bought and I really like it! However the way it was packed inside the box made the Velcro side stay out and curved the belt so I have to shape the belt the other way so I can use it. It's a though made belt but now I have to figure out how to shape it to use it.
Pros:
  • Great belt!
Cons:
  • Someone packed it like an idiot....
Best Used for:
  • Will hold your gear, won't move.

Bad buckle

by OBSIDIAN, from ND, United States Written on March 29, 2022
This is a nice stiff belt but the buckle is terrible. The belt overlaps Itself, creating space between the two belts, right where the holster is. Putting the belt on backwards could solve the problem if you could buckle it without seeing it. I like the inner belt though.
Pros:
  • Stiff and firm
Cons:
  • Buckle

Safariland 032 ELS belt

by Payloader, from FL, United States Written on January 30, 2018
The belt is very rigid, which is great for putting all your gear on for a 3-gun match. Supporting all that weight should be no problem. However, the QLS clips do not line up with the belt holes without using a great deal of force to engage the threads of the attaching hardware. It also took a little over 2 months receive the order. That being said, I got a great price on them.

Great competition belt

by Jimm, from NC, United States Written on December 19, 2017
Belt is great quality, fast shipping. I ordered the belt 2” larger than my normal belts. So my pant size is a 36, normal belt would be a 38, this belt I did a 40. Allows me to have enough room to install all mag pouches comfortably.
Pros:
  • Well thought out Safariland system
Cons:
  • If not Safariland pouch, requires fabrication
Best Used for:
  • Competition Shooting

only competition belt i recommend

by Bsdbb, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on June 21, 2017
so after going to a bunch of steel challenges and observing a 3 gun competition, i have noticed a lot of competitors using this type of belt, along with the ELS system. they were able to quickly change all the equipment was on their belts with ease. now when getting this belt since your going to have a bunch of equipment on it, get a size or two larger then what you need so you can get all the gear on.
Pros:
  • Modular
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • IDPA Comptition
  • 3 gun competion
  • Steel Challenge and steel plate shooting
  • knock down steel

Safariland ELS 032 competition belt

by Slamo, from LA, United States Written on December 8, 2016
Bought the competition belt in the basket weave finish and like it very much. Had trouble deciding what size belt to order. I went with 2 sizes larger than waist and probably should have only gone with next size up. Have a bit of extra belt in the back which gets in the way of rifle mag holders. May buy another smaller belt and keep this one for future use.
Pros:
  • Good value for money
Cons:
  • Hard to figure size needed

Safariland ELS belt system

by kmca, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 22, 2016
Very nice, stiff belt. Only problem is, being 1-3/4" wide, it won't fit some of the original magazine pouches I currently own. It's easily solved by installing the ELS clips, though it can be pricey.

Great for 3GN or if you shoot different guns every week

by jd, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on June 1, 2016
If you shoot competition and need flexibility, this is the best system. It is pricey to set up for different classes and takes some time to put ELS on all the gear, but once you get it done, swapping out between stages is quick and easy. I shoot different classes almost every month to include 3Gn and USPSA Limited and revolver. If you don't shoot PR or the same gun every time, sometimes you need more Mags and ammo load out options. For 3GN, a shotgun heavy stage, I can have 6 2x2s caddies hanging, shooting Heavy O class where you are limited to 10rds in the pistol, 4 pistol Mags, 2 shot-caddies, and rifle mag, going carbine this week, take off all but a couple pistol mag pouches and caddis and your ready to go. One belt, bag of shell holders and mag pouches, I can change my belt for a different classes in less than a minute. If your shooting Unlim or Practical rifle where you reload once in a while or shoot only one class of pistol, you probably won't need the quick change ability. Just wish someone made ELS compatible revolver pouches in both 38 & 44. I have made several things to work on the belt as not all setups are supported.
Pros:
  • quick change in seconds
  • one belt for almost all set ups
  • good sturdy belt and ELS system
Cons:
  • Pricey when you put a complete rig together
  • ELS stuff not made for all setups

Versatility

by Ken, from WA, United States Written on February 9, 2016
ELS Competition Belt is considered by many top competition shooters to be the one of the best versatile belt system in the market. I have to agree with that, other benefits with the ELS is that you can set up your belt to the many stage shooting requirements. Great quality and versatility
