Most Helpful Positive Review Great holster
Did some research between this and the BH SERPA. Decided I'd go with the thumb release of the ALS. I am very happy with this purchase. My G23 draws easily and the motion of the release is very natural. I had very few failure to draws when practicing for the first time with this holster, and after getting used to it it is seamless. Pros: Locking, easy release

Safariland AlS paddle Holster for my Glock 34

by Police, from MS, United States Written on January 19, 2018
Awesome holster. I carry it with the paddle worn option. Once you put it on it is there to stay. It stays put on your hip very tight and I like that about it. Only thing I wish the belt worn option was big enough to fit a police duty belt.
Pros:
  • Secure and fast
  • Protects gun
Cons:
  • Belt worn option not wide enough

Safariland ALS paddle holster

by Rich, from NM, United States Written on November 25, 2017
This holster fits my Glock pistol as advertised. I like the retention lock and the fact that it is easy to operate with the thumb as you draw. The paddle feature goes on and off easy and stays put. I would buy this again and give it five stars.

A good gun bucket

by Gunner, from NY, United States Written on September 4, 2017
This holster is pretty basic - just a polymer shell with decent mounting options (belt or paddle both included). It has a thin suede lining to help protect your pistol's finish, which I could live without, but it's not horrible (I'd prefer unlined as I'm usually shooting outdoors, so if the lining gets wet and/or filled with range grit, it's actually harder on the finish than unlined kydex). The paddle is OK, and grabs onto a belt reasonably firmly; if you want a complete "no movement" mounting system, use the included belt slide attachment.

Where the holster excels is in a balance of speed and retention. Safariland's ALS system is intuitive and fast, and doesn't put any fingers anywhere near the trigger guard, unlike some other designs. Once snapped into the holster, the pistol is NOT coming out without deactivating the ALS, but a simple swipe of the thumb during the draw lets your pistol pop right out into your master grip.

As an added advantage for the Glock family, this holster will fit anything in the 9/40/357 frame size (except the G42/43) - from my G34 down to my G26, so I can strap it on at the beginning of a multi-pistol qualification/training day and shoot all my Glocks without having to change holsters.

Overall, for the price, it's pretty darned hard to beat.
Pros:
  • adaptability
  • Retention
  • speed
Cons:
  • Bulky - not a concealment rig
Best Used for:
  • Range

Safariland paddle holster

by Vito 10, from IL, United States Written on May 20, 2017
The holster works well with easy weapon release. Once on the waist it holds its location well but can be difficult to slide on your belt while wearing the belt. It's relative small size adds to the comfort of wearing the holster.

Safariland 6378 for Glock 19

by John, from OK, United States Written on January 10, 2017
I received the holster quickly and in perfect condition from OpticsPlanet. My overall impression is quite positive. The holster is well constructed and simple to use. I must admit that I am new to paddle holsters and having said that I was not impressed with the paddle. However, I am quite pleased with the belt loop mount (Holster came with both). The holster itself it almost everything I had hoped for. My Glock is retained positively, yet easily released with the thumb release mechanism when gripping the pistol normally (without your trigger finger being used as with some other models). The only real negative that I have found is that a shoulder harness mount is not available for this holster - A complete and separate holster must be purchased. I am considering purchasing the shoulder rig, but it bothers me that Safariland doesn't make this available... perhaps they have a reason (other than greed)? Time will tell...
Pros:
  • Quality construction
  • Excellent retention
Cons:
  • Cannot be adapted to a shoulder rig
  • Paddle does not work well for me (could be me)

The holster is at a good price and is perfect for my off-duty needs. It meets all the safety requirements my agency has for off-duty holsters. It is secure on your waist with the paddle and it also comes with a belt-loop module. The ALS makes it safe and is easy to release when needed.

Safariland holster for my Glock 30

by Headhunter47, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on August 16, 2016
Bought this holster for my Glock 30. Works Great. Gun fits snugly, and holster rides nice on my side, and cannot be pulled off by an attacker. I can run with the gun in the holster, and the gun will not fall out.

I have used these for years, this model provides excellent consistent draws and re-holster of the firearm. During training classes the holster remains secure in the same place and the retention is easy to operate. This is a quality product.

This holster is a fine addition for any one's Glock 19 carry.
