For years, Officers have been searching for a holster that would accommodate a Glock weapon light. Since my department utilizes the Safariland 6280 (as many departments do), I was happy to see that Glock had stepped up to the plate.
Now this holster is bulkier than any that I've ever carried, but that's a part of the 6280 design. Rolling over on this baby during a weapon retention exercise was a nightmare. It was, however, able to withstand my 225 pound frame without breaking.
It takes some practice to get used to the draw. My thumb missed the release button on the hood a few times and that cost me a second or two. Once you've gotten it, I think it's a very fast holster though. How that will play out under duress remains to be seen.
The Safariland Universal Belt Loop (UBL) makes for a much more comfortable carry. I can wear my Glock without becoming tired far longer than I could with other holsters.
I personally would have preferred it in a Kydex finish, but I had to go with the Dept. mandate. The Hi-Gloss finish does clean up well when the holster is new though. I look forward to seeing what it'll look like after years of use.
Pros: Holster a perfect fit for Glock weapon light
Cons: Heavy and Bulky
