This system is a well built stable platform that has proven itself time and time again. I strongly recommend paying a few more bucks than the "cheap" alternative. You buy it once and you done and happy. You can use this system with the hood in the forward position to make it one less step to get your gun out, but after a few minutes of practicing it's no big deal.

Excellent balance between retention and draw. It's a solid holster at a good price. Expect to do a lot of draw practice to develop the muscle memory needed for speed if you are not familiar with the als/sls system. Once you got it down it's a quick draw. I'm never worried about a loose weapon with this holster.

As good as it gets for dual retention holsters.
This is the best tactical holster I've ever found that has dual retention. I've owned many holsters, but for serious retention and safety, nothing comes close to this.
It has a dual retention system. One is a push button that sits near your leg and not outside the holster like on Blackhawks, so only you would really know to reach it.
The second retention system is a hood that keeps the gun from coming out.
The push button retention can be used separately from the hood and the hood does not have to be up at all times. This is great for those times where you know you'll need quick access to your firearm.
It's as good as it gets, but it is pricy. I do feel it is worth the price however.
Pros: Dual Retention System, Well Thought Out
Cons: It's a little pricy, but it's worth it.

A very good, secure holster. With minimal training this holster is easy and fast to draw from despite its level III rating.
Pros: Secure and easy to draw from
Cons: As with all thigh holsters they can become uncomfortable after extended periods.
