Only level 3 option
The holster is the only one currently approved by my department, but it is the only level 3 I’ve found available right now for the Staccato P. I am not a huge fan of the product, due to the SLS hood and ALS almost being a two step draw/defeat. It is not the more fluid draw/defeat that is designed for other firearm brands. The ALS benefits from nub mods. This makes it easier to get to, and avoids the ridiculous amount of plastic that Safariland has there vs the HD holster variant. It seems like they just threw stuff together for the P to have a product, whereas the HD is a better (not perfect) variant. Recommending because it is the only option, but hopefully a few other manufacturers give us a better option/choice.
Pros:
- only option
Cons:
- poor design
Best Used for:
- duty

Safariland 6360RDS Level III Retention ALS/SL
Great holster. Solid retention, smooth draw once you train it. I’ve run multiple models.

Fits the Stacatto P
I've had a holster before. This is my second and it fits the weapon well. Only issue I had is that you need an adapter to attach a QLS fork as they placed the retention bolt close to the fork placement, making it hard to attach without rubbing.

Exactly what I needed
I mean it is a Safariland Holster not much to say here. 10/10 they had the exact one I needed for my gun. These are hard to find for my specific model as there are 600 M&P models for some reason. Originally ordered one directly from Safariland and they sent the wrong one, so returned it and found this one for actually cheaper than Safariland when I had a $50 dollar off coupon for Safariland. 2 thumbs up for Optics Planet always having what I need when I need it for the cheapest price.

Too long for a compact pistol
This would probably fit a 5-inch barrel; they just put a plug in the end to fit the 4" bbl. It's super long and much longer than it should be for a compact firearm. On the plus size, it might be fairly easy to alter if I ever decide to carry a full-size or competition-size handgun. I wish holster makers would make compact holsters for compact firearms. Besides the extra length and terrible nomenclature, it's a great holster. It's sturdy and fits my M&P 9c 4" with a Streamlight TLR 7a light and no wobbling. It's easy to draw from with some practice.
Pros:
- Sturdy
Cons:
- Large and heavy.
Best Used for:
- Crowd control

Good Price, Slow Shipping
I was able to get this holster for a really great price on sale from OpticsPlanet- easily $50 cheaper than any other price I was finding. As always, Optics Planet shipping process is sort of painfully slow (DHL is awful too), but for the price it was worth the wait.
Pros:
- Price
Cons:
- Shipping & Handling Time.

Nice Level3 Holster
I got the 6360RDS-1582-481 model (basket weaver) to fit a Staccato P with a surefire light and Holosun 509T red dot. The holster fit but I did a little bit of sanding on the SLS hood to allow the hood to smoothly open. This will void the warranty but all my Safariland holsters have been modified and holds up for eternity. I also added a modified nub for a bigger thumb release. Now my holster locks and unlocks smoothly. I also have a 7TS series for my glock 17 compatible gun and the thumb release there is designed differently where it sits up high which allows for a smoother push. As for the sanding part, I used a drummel (you can use also use sandpaper but might take a longer time). I unscrewed one side of the rotating hood (I believe is called the SLS) so I can have easy access to the sections that I needed to use with the drummel. I would drummel and then test it without the gun and then add the gun a little later, then drummel it more and kept testing it so that I didn't end up taking too much of the material out. The issue is when you put the gun in, and then when you push on the SLS/ALS, it goes down and makes contact with the gun so it does not smoothly unlocks and locks. Anyways, it works great, no issues and unlocks very smoothly.
