I use these on loaner rifles
I am a firearms instructor and sometimes a student will need to borrow a rifle. All my loaner 10/22s have these on them as a “muzzle protection device”. Students have a tendency to let the muzzles touch the dirt/mud from the prone position. This item protects the muzzle from damage and obstructions. I am a fan of these devices.

Looks great on the gun. I read some have had it come off the gun while shooting but I had to drive it on with a mallet so I don’t expect a problem.
