Patrick McKenna's Review of Samson MLOK Grenade Vertical Grip

The Samson MLOK Vertical Grip Long Grenade in black was exactly what I was looking for on a fast, hard running AR. The long length gives me a secure, full hand purchase, which really pays off when I am sending 30 rounds in a couple seconds. The grenade style machining is not just cosmetic. The texture locks into the hand and keeps the rifle under control without feeling sharp or abrasive. Build quality is excellent: it’s solid metal, not cheap polymer, with a robust feel that matches the rest of a quality build. Installation on my MLOK handguard was straightforward, locks up rock solid, and hasn’t loosened under rapid fire. A nice bonus is that it also just looks great – that classic grenade profile really completes the rifle’s aesthetic. Overall, this grip greatly improves control, confidence, and handling, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one.
Pros:
  • Made in the USA.
  • Excellent control under rapid fire and mag dumps, especially with the long length.
  • Aggressive grenade-style texturing that really locks into the hand without feeling sharp.
  • Looks great and complements modern AR builds aesthetically
  • All metal 6061 T6 aluminum construction with hard anodized finish. Feels extremely durable.
  • Rock solid MLOK attachment with a two piece design that lets you remove the grip without pulling the mount.
Cons:
  • Heavier than polymer foregrips due to the all-metal construction.
