If you want a rail, you can't even use this is the perfect rail for you!
Came with stripped threads, misaligned holes and holes that were halfway missing.
Contacted Samson directly all I got was broken promises and lies.
45 days later no new rail shipped, no communication from Samson.
Made in the USA with this many defects?
I hear they are hiring for quality control since they have none.
Spend $300 on a rail and it not even good enough for my fish tank.

Love the rail, fits and looks great. Machining and finish is perfect. Rail fits tight and was still tight after i shot 40 or so rounds thru it. My optics fight tight to the rail as well. All in all a great product, i waited way to long to make the change. My second Samson product and have not been disappointed yet!

My Sig 556 Classic is built like a tank. The plastic Swiss Style hand guard however, is made of plastic and is loose fitting and drove me crazy. I purchased and installed the Samson Star 556 Rail on my Sig and am very happy with my purchase. Excellent machine work and easy to install. My Sig 556 looks great and is very solid, no movement at all in the hand guard. I purchased and installed LaRue Index Clips on the rails with no problem. I am heading to the range as soon as the weather clears.

I bought the rail to give the gun a more "modern" look and feel. Accuracy, was said to improve after installing this rail, after reading online forums. Well, that was not at all the case. In my case, accuracy suffered about 50-75% loss with various ammunition. I tried accuracy tests using Sellier & Bellot, TulAmmo, Red Army Std, Winchester, PMC, PPU and, the infamous, Mil-Surp boxes. This gun is no tac-driver to begin with, but, thats not what it was designed for.

Any gun with this much rail space will be a cheese grater on the hands and sand bags. I installed the Surefire Rail Ladders on every exposed Picatinny and it complemented the rail perfectly. Im not sure what the cut out on the bottom forward end of the handguard is for, but, that still has some sharp corners that are still exposed. Still, its a well handling forend.

The install was really easy, and no gunsmith was required. I installed all fasteners using Loc-tite Green, as it is the ONLY thing that has kept ALL of my fasteners for EVER coming off, regardless of heat, or round count.

Disassembly of the complete weapon is no longer as easy as Sig designed it to be. The "Piston Tube" no longer comes out by 1/4 turn and pull out. There's a notch on top of the "Piston-Tube" that becomes trapped by the channel in the top of the handguard. Thus, requiring one to remove the Top portion of the handguard, along with any optics that might have been installed over the rail screws. Not a show stopper, as not everyone is that...

Ordered this on thursday... to my door today Saturday by 2:30pm!! Qualiyy is unmatched, its perfect. I origianally thought about the Troy, but after seeing everyone with a Troy... Going with the Samson was an easy choice!!! I'm the only one in my city with a Samson rig ( probably or one of the few atleast!) Shipping facking gast... excellent buy, totally worth it!!! My sig 556 is a freaking stud now!!

Great modification to my Sig 556.
Pros: easy of install and look
Cons: some edges are a little sharp

I took the plastic rail off my Sig and install these. Now, my gun looks like a Socom II. I'm thrilled. It's easy to instqll. It takes longer to open the box than to install!
Pros: easy to install.
