Same item with wrong barrel nut sent twice!
I originally purchased this SXS Lightweight .308 15 in Handguard for High Profile Recievers, Black, 01-06092-01 in Dec. 2024
Upon receiving the Item I found that the included barrel nut was the wrong thread.
I had ordered SKU Code: OI-HZ-SXSLW15-01-06092-01. This is supposed to fit DPMS high profile .308 receivers like the Aero Precision M5 .308, (which I have)
DPMS receivers barrel nut thread pattern is 1-7/16” and 16 TPI.
ArmaLite receivers barrel nut thread pattern is 1-7/16” and 18 TPI. They are not interchangeable. The Item I received had the 18 TPI barrel nut.
I contacted Optics Planet who offered to return or exchange the product. I chose to return the product and simply "Re-purchase" the item to save some time with all the shipping. I then sent the receiver back to optics planet with a detailed description of the problem, that the barrel nut was incorrect.
Well apparently the item became "back-ordered" so, I did not receive the "new" receiver until three months later in April. Imagine the shock I had when I opened the package only to find out they had shipped me the exact same receiver in the exact same box I had returned to them In January! WTH? I hoped that maybe the barrel nut had been swapped out with the correct one but, NO! EXACT SAME 18 TPI BARREL NUT!
I was really hoping to use this hand-guard as It is a nice design and the quality of the hand-guard is quite good. Unfortunately I guess I'll have to choose another brand .
