Chaz's Review of Savior Equipment American Classic Double Rifle Case

I love everything about the American Classic cases... but they missed a few simple design features that they offer on some of their other products. When I suggested them to Savior, they basically told me to go pound sound.

The I have several of the American Classics and noticed they all have 2 extra D-Rings that aren't attached to anything. As you know, these all come with backpack straps and these bulky straps cannot be converted into a single shoulder straps. I've lugged several of these in my trunk and the backpack straps are bulky and get in the way. With my 55" case, if I were a shorter person the end of the case would be dragging on the ground. It would have been much better to offer a shoulder strap.

So I happened to buy their American Classic Shorty case for a SBR, and noticed it ONLY had a shoulder strap without any D-rings for a backpack strap. But the only 2 D-Rings were in the same exact location on the bigger American Classic cases. So I had to buy some aftermarket shoulder straps for the bigger Savior cases and that solved my problem.

I asked Savior about buying their individual shoulder straps and they kept telling me to buy the Shorty.... it won't work for a 26" barrel bolt gun. After much back and forth, they suggested I buy their Urban Warfare cases which are basically a streamlined American Classic, but with extra drag handles, backpack straps, AND the shoulder strap.

So in essence, I just wanted to buy those nice padded shoulder straps from the Urban Warfare so I could use them on my big American Classic cases... and not have to spend hundreds more for new Urban Warfare cases.

The drag handles were a nice touch that should have been on the American Classic as well. It wouldn't have cost them much in extra stitching and webbing across the line.
