The SB tactical honeybadger pdw brace is a nice piece of kit. The built quality is outstanding, the tolerances are tight but SMOOTH, and the fit and finish is consistent throughout the unit. If asked, I would suggest making an ambidextrous release latch, and spring loading the extension so that it snaps to first position. But cost is just right for this kit so I understand the compromises when engineering a extendable pistol brace.
Pros:
- Sturdy
- Quiet
- Does not shake
- Cost versus value
Cons:
- Castle nut is questionable
- Release latch could be ambidextrous
- Spring assist could be nice
Best Used for:
- Home Defense
- close quarters
- truck gun

I bought it based on the recommendations of a friend who had one. I was not sure if this was the right brace, but after using his on his pistol and feeling the fit and feel of it and that it was not just cheap one, I bought it. OP shipped very quickly, and I had it w/in a week some of the other parts took a bit longer because of high demand but I built out my lower and have been running it on another upper that I had and could not be more pleased with the fit of it when I am shooting. Both my son's one who is 6'5" the other who is 5'11" agree that it is easy to adjust and colipases down to easily carry or transport and smooth to adjust to the correct size when needed. This is a solid brace as I said in the title, it feels good when shooting and am considering getting more.
Cons:
- Adjustment button on slide takes 2 hands at times

Neither the SB Tactical website, nor the product description here on the OP website, explain what was meant by "works on mil-spec lowers only". My lower is an Aero Precision M4E1 Pro (not totally mil-spec), but I figured I'd give it a shot anyway since this was the only brace I was interested in for my pistol build. If you want to find out for yourself, this is what I had to do to make it work. (1) There turned out to be about 1/8" to 1/4" interference on the right side of the receiver where the M4E1's ambi bolt stop/release button prevented the sliding brace support bar form coming all the way forward, holding the back end of the brace about 1/8" away from being able to fully close. I trimmed the forward end of that bar to clear the ambi controls and copied the original profile angle onto the end of the rod so the controls were not blocked by the rod end. My plan was to just cold blue the raw metal area of the rod, but the metal will not take the bluing, so I'll have to paint it. It's a relatively easy job to do, but now I'm left with a shiny end on the rod that sticks out like a sore thumb. (2) The is some relatively minor sharp plastic casting flash and casting sprue material residue on top of, and under, the cheek weld part that slips over the buffer tube. I still need to smooth those areas out by scraping and/or sanding to make sure they won't cut me during use. ** Overall I still like this brace, but do wish it had the spring open assist like is on the SBPDW brace.
Pros:
- compact
- Overall design
- Tight / smooth operation
Cons:
- Plastic finish (sharp edges)

Fits great with my ATI Omni 556 AR Pistol. Easy install. Looks and feels solid. Great upgrade from the terrible pistol stock provided from ATI.

Keeping it brief, the compact design and weight of this unit are what made me select it for my suppressed pistols. I have two (BCM 300 AAC and BA 556) and it works wonderfully on each. No regrets on this one!
Pros:
- Lightweight
- compact
- Easy to install
- Sturdy
Cons:
- Manually operated
- No aftermarket straps available yet
- Comes in only on color

An extremely comfortable brace. The extendibility let’s it be much more comfortable higher on the arm. The install was easy, intuitive, and took less than 10 minutes. By far the most comfortable brace I’ve ever used. The price is a little steep but absolutely worth the cost
Pros:
- Comfort
- easy set up
- install easily
