Nice Balance, Writes Well
Useful blunt tip when closed and sharp heavy penetrator when open in the writing position. There are six (6) pieces to the pen, NOT counting the writing pieces. Whistle is pretty weak unless whistle/pen cap is removed. Striker plate end piece is reverse thread for no reason. Overall, it's a hefty one handed close in weapon. BUT- you must master the overall assembly, it's fairly complex. Practice blind once a day should get you ready for tactical use.
Pros:
- Heavy Duty
- well balanced
- great fire starter
Cons:
- Pricey
- lots of moving parts
Best Used for:
- writting
- temple stikes
- hide away

Black tactical pen, w great features
I bought on for myself and one as a gift. Thought it would fit in my flight suit pen pocket, but it's too fat. Not a big deal. The pen works most of the time, but I have had problems getting it to write, so 4 out of 5 stars for that. The "striker" feature is not actually a striker FYI, but it IS magnesium which is cool and if you have matches is way more helpful then a striker anyway. Because magnesium burns so hot it can start a fire on wet wood etc. All other features work great, that I have tested, because I haven't actually used it for self defense. I have received many great compliments on it and people are impressed and jealous. And you really can't beat the price.
Pros: Tactical pen w lots of features
Cons: Pen ink is so so, not actually a striker
