Good fire tool
I’ve had several ferro rods and strikers. This tool is everything you need for hundreds? of fires. Very easy to spark, almost too easy throws big sparks if you try. Any steel works as a striker, and I removed the striker because it will be constantly carried beside my knife in the sheath. The paracord helps secure the rod in the sheath, otherwise would easily fall out.
Edc fire tool
This ferro rod is the perfect size to be part of your Edc pocket pouch, with the include tool steel striker it throws a great amount of sparks, in testing found you need to break the surface by scraping a few times, after that your good to go lights dry tinder on first try.
There are tons of different size Ferro rods out there but this one fits perfect for every day carry in a small pocket pouch, highly recommended.

Nice ferro rod
Good quality rod, compact and throws a really good spark.
Not sure what else I can say for this review, it’s a pretty straight forward product that even a monkey could figure out and use so I don’t have anything else to say.

schrade large ferro rod w/striker plate and lanyard
the rod is great. large enough to use comfortably, probably with a lifetime of use.the striker plate is thick and cut like "mora" lite my fire knives. i personally use the mora knife for the striker.

Good little back up
Why five stars? It was listed as described, came as expected and price was not too bad. I bought to teach my son to use, I have ones I bought in bulk came with no handles, but having a handle on this with a good rod is what I wanted to show my son to use. He can hold in his little hands and is large enough to do control.
