Most Helpful Positive Review Serengeti Dante Sunglasses - Shiny Gun/ Black Tannery Frame, 555nm Polarized Lenses
I am very happy with these sunglasses. Not only are they wicked cool looking, they are so light I don't even feel that I am wearing them and they do their job with the sun.

dantesnfernoglare

by Tom, from KS, United States Written on July 7, 2018
As per the review title, these units offered noticeable reduction in glare and increased refinement of objects viewed. They fit well and my biggest concern was drooping or slippage on the nose area, but none noticed as of yet. Only have worn for 3 weeks now, so the test of time is yet to be completed - but, so far, so good. I hesitated some because of the price, but I owned a pair years ago and got good service from them- only losing them to an unfortunate accident. I would exercise caution with their use if replacement cost is a factor for you. Hope to have these for a long time. UPDATE --- there is some slight looseness in the temple hinges - should be able to tighten the screws to resolve this issue.
Pros:
  • fit and wear well
Cons:
  • A bit pricey
Best Used for:
  • daily wear - driving

Traveling for Work Has Become Easier

by Russ, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on May 15, 2018
This by far have been the most comfortable and effective pair of sunglasses i have owned. I drive approximately 50K miles per year for work. The Serengeti's with the Drivers lenses by far out perform other brands that i have tried. The glass lenses are light for their size and the fit of the frame is comfortable. The drivers lenses produce a clear and constant vision and there is no noticeable distortion. They also don't "slide" needing frequent adjustment as others.
Pros:
  • Weighs almost nothing
  • Fit & feel great
  • value and quality
Cons:
  • Non a all-around around great product
Best Used for:
  • driving
  • Outdoor activites

Comfortable and Complimentary

by Inez, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on July 26, 2017
I love these light weight wire frames. The blue/brown polarized lens that darken in intense light are wonderful for driving. They are also as sharp and clear as my prescription lens were that I no longer need. The wrap around lens block light from the side window wonderfully. The colors are not distorted much but are just grayed and softened a little. And there is almost no reflected glare. They are large enough to block most light reflected from light colored clothing. The blue/brown color is also complimentary. In the 40 years I have worn Serengeti glass lens they have never broken while I was wearing them and only once has one broken while not wearing them.. It is usually the frame that breaks. So these flexible wire frames with spring temples should be an improvement.
Pros:
  • light weight, comfortable, attractive, durable, practical
  • reduce eye fatigue, comfortable, attractive, durable, practical
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • driving in intense bright light and reflected light

Good sunglasses

by Jordan, from AB, Canada Written on December 29, 2015
Very nice sunglasses. The lenses on them are the best I've found.

Only downside to this is the rubber temple grips come off easily. Can be a simple fix at a repair place.

They work well for flying - I'm a pilot. Easy to see outside the cockpit on a bright day and yet still see inside where it's darker without having to take the sunglasses off.

Outstanding Quality and Value

by wcl, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on July 10, 2015
Purchased these to replace a pair of Coyote sunglasses that broke. The Serengeti Dante sunglasses are very nice looking and comfortable to wear. With the glass lenses they are a little heavy, but no so much as to be uncomfortable. These have polarized lenses which tend to do weird color things when looking through some car side glass and radio displays, but they do make everyday things look clear and sharp. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a reasonably priced pair of sunglasses where the effects of polarizing isn't an issue.
Pros:
  • good value
  • Great looking
  • Glass lenses
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • general use

Quality plus

by sharpshooter, from IN, United States Written on March 15, 2015
The optical quality is excellent but what I really like is the wire-flex feature of the frames. They're comfortable but no slip. I've accumulated three different style green-lens Ray Bans over the years and one pair of ambers. I even recently purchased some Dual gray-lens sunglasses. They are all very good. However I wanted to try Serengeti's light-adjusting feature in some amber lenses. I can now say without hesitation the Serengeti Dante glasses met every expectation and are my favorites!

Serengeti Dante sunglasses

by Kent Carter, Verified Owner from WESTERN AUSTRELIA, Australia Written on December 25, 2014
Excellent light weight sunglasses that resist scratching especially for driving. That are fairly rugged but the screws need too be sealed to prevent becoming undone over prolonged use I use clear nail varnish
